Temporary Kunsthalle

Key facts & challenges

Short Description
Austrian architect Adolf Krischanitz designed this movable, reusable structure on a rectangular ground plan at the Schlossplatz in Berlin. His aim was to create a building that simply existed to showcase art. Even the façades of the building were created as exhibition spaces for artists. The Siniat cladded 56 x 20 metre and eleven-metre-tall construction, has been designed by various artists and is widely visible. The first outdoor art on the Siniat canvas was designed by documenta artist, Gerwald Ro-ckenschaub, who created a pixel-like abstract scene of white clouds on a bright blue background.
